No More: The Children of Birmingham 1963 and the Turning Point

The 1963 campaign to desegregate Birmingham, Alabama, generated national publicity and federal action because of the violent response by local authorities and the decision by Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) to recruit children for demonstrations. The “Children’s Crusade” added a new dynamic to the struggle in Birmingham and was a major factor in the success of the campaign.

Going for Broke: Japanese Americans In World War II

All traitors against the United States during WW2 weren’t Americans of Japanese descent, none.

“Throughout the course of World War II, not a single incident of espionage or treason was found to be committed by Japanese Americans. The difficulty of committing treason while incarcerated cannot alone explain this absence of wrongdoing; Japanese Americans living in Hawaii were spared relocation because of the logistical difficulty of transporting a third of the state’s population to the mainland. With their numbers exceeding the entire Japanese population on the mainland, Japanese Americans in Hawaii proved an essential part of the state’s labor force and defense.”

The United States Isn’t A Christian Nation, But A Nation of Many Different Beliefs

It is a nation of all; Muslims, Jews, Christians, Catholics, Atheists, Agnostics, and more. You can find plenty of religious beliefs, ethnicity, and languages in early Americas/America (U.S) and present. If you look at our nation’s capital; you’ll see the influence of many people, in its’ architect. That is if you actually take the time out to educate yourself  to be able to do that. Some people think they have some sort of exclusive ownership of our country, and mostly due to their own ignorance and self-indulgence when it comes to our collective history.

Gaza Strip

I was trying to bite my tongue on the situation between Israel and Gaza for the longest, but it should be blatantly obvious by now that Israel has gone far beyond what was necessary to handle Hamas. The situation has caused some countries to stop supporting Israel until they come up with a non-violent solution that doesn’t have a 80 to 90% civilian death/injury rate. With that slither of land, citizens in Gaza have no where to go and no real secure shelter to shield themselves from.

Yesterday more than 200 citizens in Gaza were killed since the 72 hour ceasefire; the total death toll is an estimation of 10,000, missing children, and people injured severely. With a population of about 1.816 million, this can only be described as a genocide.
